BJSS and Kainos have been announced as joint finalists in the IT Project Team of the Year category at the upcoming UK IT Industry Awards. Our client, the DVSA, has also been shortlisted in the Best Public Sector IT project category.

The shortlisting is in recognition of the combined BJSS, Kainos and DVSA team who successfully digitised the agency’s practical driving test. This revolutionary project saw the replacement of a heavily manual, paper-based process with a fully digital service that is the most significant change to the driving test process since it was introduced in 1934.

Mark Magee, Head of Driver Policy/DES Project Executive, DVSA explains: “The move to mobile technology brings the driving test into the 21st century.  The approach of using a network of examiners as early adopters has also set a new benchmark for the way that DVSA will involve users and manage change in the future.”

Paul Fletcher, Group CEO, BCS, The Chartered Institute for IT, says: “Congratulations to BJSS for being shortlisted, they clearly demonstrate the highest levels of excellence and innovation across today’s IT sector. These awards showcase some of the most inspiring and best in our industry, and it is a significant achievement to be shortlisted.”

Winners of the UK IT Industry Awards will be announced on 11th November 2020.
